NSU to host a Medicine
Clinic
Norfolk, Va.—Norfolk State
University will host a free Medicine Clinic, which will be presented by
area pharmacists on Monday, November 22 at the L. Douglas Wilder
Performing Arts Center. On-site registration is from 9:30 to 9:55 a.m.
and the clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sponsored by the 2005-05 Presidential Institute for Administrative
Leadership Fellows, participants are encouraged to bring in their bags
of prescription and non-prescription medications to be evaluated by a
pharmacist.
Participants will have the opportunity to find out the following about
their brown bag medications:
• The
medicine’s name and what it should do
• When and how to take the medication
• The possible side effects
• What food, activities or other medicines to avoid
• How to store the medication
• What you should do if you forget or skip a dose of medication
