NSU Appoints Executive Director for Institutional
Research and Enrollment Management
Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University, Virginia’s
largest HBCU with a student enrollment of nearly 7,000, has named
Terricita E. Sass as the new executive director for institutional research
and enrollment management effective January 10.
In this new and expanded role, Sass will be responsible for providing
oversight and coordination of several related enrollment management
activities in order to create a comprehensive, integrated approach to
marketing, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, registration, advising
and housing. As the University repositions itself in an increasingly
competitive environment, particular attention will be given to enhancing
student services through continuous quality improvement. Sass will
maintain her portfolio as director of Institutional Research, a position
she has held since 1997, and she will continue to staff NSU’s Commission
on Strategic Planning and serve as the activity director for the
Presidential Institute for Administrative Leadership Development.
Sass began her career at NSU in 1988 and brings more than 15 years of
experience in higher education to her new role. She received a master’s
degree from Norfolk State University in urban affairs and a bachelor’s
degree in business administration from Francis Marion University in
Florence, S.C. Her numerous honors and citations include a listing in
Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities and membership in Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her professional memberships include the
Association for Institutional Research, Southern Association for
Institutional Research, Society for College and University Planning,
Virginia Management and Planning Association, Datatel User’s Group and the
American Association for Higher Education.
