NSU'S CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO OFFER
WORKSHOPS IN HIGH TECHNOLOGY, PROPOSAL WRITING AND CREATIVE STRATEGIES FOR
BUSINESS
Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University’s Center for Entrepreneurship will offer a variety of free seminars and workshops beginning Feb. 18 at free at the Small Business Resource Center and One Stop Capital Shop, located at 1130 Tabb Street, Suite C in downtown Norfolk.
The following is a description of the seminars and a listing of the time and date:
High Technology and Innovation Opportunities
Geared towards inventors, entrepreneurs and researchers, the seminars are designed to promote the development of new technology through small businesses; identify and assist individuals and businesses with high tech ideas or business concerns; and strengthen research and development collaboration between the University and small businesses. Seminar topics will include feasibility studies, prototypes, commercialization to market and access to capital.
Classes will be offered at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, Tuesday, March 18, and Tuesday, April 29.
Writing Winning Proposals I
This workshop presents practical information that will enable individual entrepreneurs and managers to produce more effective proposals that are customer-oriented, complete, accurate, up-to-date and error free.
This class will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Writing Winning Proposals II
This workshop is designed for individual entrepreneurs and managers who need more in-depth feedback on proposals as they are being developed. Having completed the first workshop, small business owners who are interested in responding to a particular request for proposal are encouraged to bring actual RFPs and the first draft of their responses.
This class will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Creative Thinking for Business Success
This workshop presents tips and strategies on boosting individual and organizational creativity to create new ideas, build on ideas, merge ideas together and develop opportunities that will lead to business success.
This class will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1.
The Center for Entrepreneurship provides leadership, programs and resources that enable Norfolk State University to add value to venture served while immersing students in the entrepreneurial experience. Multidisciplinary teams, knowledge, applied research, and technical assistance is applied to strengthen and promote growth oriented and technology driven businesses.
