Norfolk State University Plans Second CASE Media Fellowship Program Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk
State University’s CASE Media Fellowship program "Child Abuse
in the United States: Shame of the Nation" will take place April
3-4, 2003. Norfolk State will host up to 15 journalists from across
the country on campus. The journalists will be involved in an intense
program with University faculty to discuss child abuse. Workshop
topics will include who or what is to blame for the national tragedy
of child abuse; legal issues, such as time constraints in removing a
child from an abusive home and prosecuting parents and more.
Applications for the fellowship are competitive.
To apply, interested journalists should send a letter of interest, a
resume or biographical brief, three work samples and a letter of
endorsement from a supervisor. The application package should be sent
to Norfolk State University, CASE Media Fellowship Coordinator,
Office of News & Media Relations, 700 Park Avenue, Suite 340,
Norfolk, Virginia 23504-8013. The deadline for applications is
Fri., December 20, 2002. CASE, the largest international association of
education associations, helps its members build stronger
