NSU Family Weekend Activities to be Held Oct. 25-27

Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University will hold “NSU Family Weekend,” three fun-filled days for NSU students and their families, Oct. 25-27.  

Sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, the weekend will kick off with the President’s Reception/Registration and Jazz Combo from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at the Spartan Station Courtyard. The cost, which includes tickets for all of the family weekend activities, is $25 per person for ages 13 and up; $10 for children ages 6-12; and free for children 5 and under.

The events are also free for Norfolk State students with ID. 

The registration deadline is Sept. 25.

Saturday, Oct. 26

• Continental Breakfast/Registration, 9 a.m.-noon, Godwin Student Center
• Family 2-Mile Run/Walk, 9:30-10:30 a.m., Godwin Student Center/Campus Green
• Youth Activities, 10:30 a.m.- noon, Godwin Student Center/Campus Green
• Football Game-NSU Spartans vs. FAMU Rattlers, 7 p.m., William Price Stadium
• Fish Fry, 2-4 p.m., Godwin Student Center/Campus Green
  Note: This event is not free to NSU students who do not have a NSU Meal Plan.
• “Oldies but Goodies Family Gym Jam,” 10 p.m.- 2 a.m., Joseph G. Echol’s Memorial Hall

Sunday, Oct. 27

• Worship Service, 9:30 a.m., Brown Hall Little Theatre
• Miss NSU Pageant, 7 p.m., L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center
