Norfolk State's P. L. Sweat and Marty Miller elected to MEAC Coaches Associations

Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University coaches P. Laverne Sweat and Marty L. Miller have both been elected as president of their respective MEAC coaches associations.

Sweat, a fourteen-year coaching veteran in cross-country and track field has been elected as president of the MEAC Outdoor Track Association by her peers. Sweat lead the Spartans to the MEAC Outdoor Track and Field title in 2001.

Miller, a thirty-year coaching veteran in baseball was chosen elected as president of the MEAC Baseball Coaches Association. Miller guided the Spartans to a 16-34 overall record this season.

NSU head softball coach Chris Ake was also elected to a post in the MEAC Softball Coaches Association. She will serve as the assistant secretary for the upcoming 2002-03 season.
