April 22, 2002 An Evening of Unity Music and Diversity to Feature National and International Musicians April 25 Norfolk, Va. The Norfolk State University Unity Choral will present "An Evening of Unity Music and Diversity," a scholarship fundraiser for minority students, at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 25 at the L. Douglas Wilder Arts Performing Arts Center. International and national soloist Soojeong Lee, Youngsuck Kim and Indal Choi will perform a variety of contemporary American music, opera arias and a few Korean folk songs. Lee, the guest soprano, is director of voice and opera at University of North Alabama. She recently appeared at the Shoals Theater with the Shoals Symphony, Merkin Hall with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra and with the New York Harmonic Orchestra at the Lincoln Center in New York and has presented recitals at the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall. Tenor Kim has been an active performer who has appeared in variety operatic roles in more than 30 major oratorios and many recitals throughout the North America, Asia, Canada, France, and Czech Republic. Choi, the featured baritone, has performed in most of the major oratorios and operas and has appeared in recitals throughout North America. China and Korea including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Halt and Chicago Opera House. He is currently a professor of music at James Madison University. The cost for reserved seating is $10, $20 and $30.
