NSU Student to Appear on the History Channel
Television Game Show History IQ

Norfolk, Va.- Norfolk State University junior David Alan Crockett, Jr. recently competed for $25,000 in a college tournament of the History Channel's History IQ television game show.

A native of Woodbridge, Va., Crockett is a political science/pre-law major. Crockett has a 3.54 grade point average and participates in several activities on campus, including the NSU Tae Kwan Do Club, Honda Campus All-Star Challenge team, Golden Key International Honour Society, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science National Honor Society.

Crockett said he called the contestant hotline and was invited to New York to see if he met the qualifications of the ideal candidate. After answering a battery of questions, he received a call two weeks later inviting him to be a contestant on the special college edition.

Hosted by Marc Summers, History IQ is a fast-paced, fully interactive daily quiz show packed with historical trivia, clever takes on the usual modes of questioning, and an unusual bonus round.

History IQ airs weeknights at 6 p.m. on the History Channel. Crockett is scheduled to appear on the show Tuesday, May 29. If he wins, he will advance in the tournament and also appear Friday, June 1.
