NSU Music Department Ninth Annual Gala Fundraiser to be Held April 19
Norfolk, Va.-The Norfolk State University Music Department will hold its Ninth Annual Gala Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19 in the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center.

Admission to the gala is free and open to the public. However, the music department is encouraging patrons to make a donation to the NSU Foundation for the benefit of the NSU Music Department and the Georgia A. Ryder Scholarship Fund, an endowed fund for outstanding music students.

The gala concert will feature the Norfolk State University symphonic wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, concert choir, trombone choir, guitar ensemble and brass quintet. In addition, the concert will honor the 2001 Gala Honoree Carl G. Harris, Jr., a retired NSU professor and music department chair, and music student alumnus DeVaughan Scott-Smith, a Norfolk Public Schools music education instrumental specialist.
