NSU Family Weekend Activities Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University will hold “NSU Family Weekend,” three fun-filled days for NSU students and their families, Oct. 12-14.Sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, the weekend will kick off with the President’s Reception/Registration and Jazz Combo from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at the Spartan Station Courtyard. The cost, which includes tickets for all of the family weekend activities, is $25 per person for ages 13 and up; $10 for children ages 6-12; and free for children 5 and under. The events are also free for Norfolk State students with ID. The registration deadline is Oct. 1. Other events throughout the weekend include: Friday, Oct. 12 President’s reception/registration-Jazz Combo, 5-7 p.m., Spartan Station NSU vs. HU Battle of the Bands, 7-10 p.m., Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall Saturday, Oct. 13 Continental Breakfast/Registration, 9 a.m. -noon, Godwin Student Center Family 2-Mile Run/Walk, 9-10 a.m., Godwin Student Center/Campus Green Youth Activities, 10 a.m.- noon, Godwin Student Center/Campus Green Football Game-NSU Spartans vs. HU Pirates, 7 p.m., William Price Stadium Fish Fry, 2-4 p.m., Godwin Student Center/Campus Green Note: This event is not free to NSU students who do not have a NSU Meal Plan. “Oldies but Goodies Family Gym Jam,” 10 p.m.- 2 a.m., Gill Gym Sunday, Oct. 8 Worship Service featuring Sylvester Starks and Voices of Expression, 11 a.m. – 2p.m., Brown Hall Little Theatre Miss NSU Pageant, 7 p.m., L.
