Faith Community Kicks Off Norfolk State University Day Feb. 4

Norfolk, Va.—The faith community committee, headed up by Rev. Geoffrey V. Guns, will kick off a Norfolk State University scholarship fundraiser at Hampton Roads churches on Sunday, Feb. 4.  

More than 1300 churches across the region will take up a special collection for NSU scholarships during their worship services or allocate funds from their budgets to support NSU scholarship funds.

Other activities include a weeklong celebration, which includes the following events:
· Monday, Feb. 5, Lecture on New York’s Burial Ground and the Struggle for Human Rights, noon.
· Thursday, Feb. 8, Lecture on Examples and Sources of African-American Resilience, 12:30 p.m.
· Friday, Feb. 9, Two Trains Running, NSU Theatre production.  Tickets are $10.
