Democratic Candidates To Speak
at Norfolk State University Oct. 17

Norfolk, Va.—Jody Wagner, Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives, and Jack Doyle, candidate for Norfolk Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, will speak at Norfolk State University Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 12:15 p.m., in front of the Mills E. Godwin Student Center.

In an effort to enhance student perspectives and familiarize them with issues during this election year, the talk is designed to give students first-hand opportunities to interact with political candidates and hear their campaign issues.  It is sponsored by the Humanities Program and Political Science Association.

Wagner plans to address issues such as a strong National Defense, “Common Sense” campaign finance reform, protecting social security and keeping promises to veterans, and safe schools and hiring quality teachers to reduce class size.

In addition to the Democratic candidates talk, the Political Science Association will sponsor a mock political debate Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Little Theatre, G.W. C. Brown Memorial Hall.

For more information, call 823-8373.
