Broadcast Journalists Regina Mobley and Don Roberts to Emcee Norfolk State’s Emerald Anniversary Green and Gold Ball Nov. 3

Norfolk, Va.— Broadcast journalists Regina Mobley and Don Roberts will emcee Norfolk State University’s Emerald Anniversary Green and Gold Ball at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3, at the Chesapeake Conference Center.

More than 20 years ago, Mobley, a news anchor at WVEC-TV-13, began her journalism career at Norfolk State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications.  Prior to joining WVEC-TV in 1992, she worked for three area radio stations and the CBS affiliate in Hampton Roads. 

She has won numerous awards for excellence in reporting from the Associated Press and the Radio and Television News Directors Association.  She was also recently inducted to the Granby High School Hall of Fame for being a positive role model in Hampton Roads. 

Roberts, an award-winning reporter, is WAVY-TV-10’s Marathon Man. He co-anchors WAVY’s morning Hampton Roads newscast and WAVY News 10 Midday at noon.  He also hosts Bottom Line, a half hour talk show. Prior to joining WAVY-TV-10 in 1989, Roberts was the news and production director at WRAP-AM. 

A graduate of Towson University, Roberts is also a published author.  His 1993 book Rap to Live By is a positive collection of poetry and rap songs for kids of all ages.  He is currently working on his next book, which is tentatively titled Daddy and accompanying cassettes.
