Eyes of Diversity: A Multi-Cultural Perspective
on Grief and Loss Program
· December 1
NSU’s School of Social Work, Hampton Roads
Sustained Dialogue Group and the AARP Grief and Loss Program will host
a multicultural grief and loss program from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Friday, Dec.
1 at the ODU/NSU Higher Education Center. Learn about the beliefs, support
systems and the meaning of spirituality expressed in the African-American,
Asian-American, Hispanic-American, and Jewish-American communities.
The program is free and open to the public. Due to limited space,
registration is required.

NSU Board of Visitors Meeting
· December 7-8
The regular meeting of Norfolk State University’s
Board of Visitors will begin Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. in the President’s Conference
Room, located in Harrison B. Wilson Hall. During that time, the
standing committee meetings will be held. The meetings will continue
on Friday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in the President’s Conference Room.

Food Drive for Homeless Veterans
· December 1-18
The NSU Veterans Affairs/Veterans Upward
Bound Office is sponsoring a food drive. Can goods and non-perishable
items can be dropped off at the following locations:

· December 6
The Lady Spartan’s Basketball Game between
NSU and Howard University takes place at 6 p.m., followed by the Men’s
Basketball Game at 8 p.m., in Echol’s Memorial Hall.
· December 9
The Lady Spartan’s Basketball Game between
NSU and Hampton University takes place at 2 p.m., in Echol’s Memorial
Hall.
· December 9
Men’s Basketball Game between NSU and UNC
Greensboro takes place at 4 p.m., in Echol’s Memorial Hall.

NSU National Alumni Association Banquet
Featuring Nathan McCall
· December 16
NSU Alumnus Nathan McCall, author of the
bestseller Make Me Wanna Holler and former Washington Post reporter, will
kick off NSU December commencement activities on Saturday, Dec. 16, as
the keynote speaker for the annual alumni banquet at 6:30 p.m.

NSU December Commencement
· December 17
Marcia Ann Gillespie, editor-in-chief of
Ms. magazine, will address approximately 360 graduates at Norfolk State
University’s commencement ceremony, scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec.
17, at Joseph G. Echol’s Hall.
