Alison Davis-Tariq
Named First African-American Female President of Bi-Tech Software National User's Group Norfolk, Va.--Norfolk State University financial systems manager Alison Davis-Tariq has been elected the first African-American female president of Bi-Tech Software National User's Group, Inc. (BSNUG). The office is divided into a three-year term consisting of president-elect, president and past-president. Davis-Tariq is currently serving the first year of her new office as president-elect. In October 2000, she will begin serving as president. "This is quite an accomplishment for me as well as for Norfolk State University. I'm very excited and looking forward to the challenge," said Davis-Tariq. As the new president, Davis-Tariq will serve as a liaison between the users of Bi-Tech Software and the software company, promote networking and sharing of information about the software, conduct board-of-director's meetings and welcome new members into the organization. Prior to being elected president, Davis-Tariq served as director-at-large from 1993-1996 on the BSNUG board and eastern regional chair since 1997. She has 10 years of experience in implementing and utilizing software systems. Founded in 1985, BSNUG is a Nevada not-for-profit corporation designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Bi-Tech software and to promote the sharing of information among its users.
