Miss Norfolk State University to be Featured in the Miss Virginia Pageant July 1, 2000 Norfolk, Va.-The reigning Miss Norfolk State University, Natalia Cales of Charleston, S.C., will be a contestant in the Miss Virginia Pageant at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000. The pageant will be televised on WTVZ/WB33.A junior majoring in health services management at Norfolk State, Cales is one of 27 young women competing for the title "Miss Virginia." During the talent competition, she plans to perform a salsa dance entitled "Salsa Con Coco." At age 20, Cales' platform is centered on foster care families. She plans to attend graduate school to earn a master's degree in business administration. Afterwards, her career goal is to become an owner/operator of a home for retired persons. The Miss Virginia Pageant is a scholarship pageant and each year scholarship dollars are given to deserving women from all over the state who participate in local pageants and the state pageant.
