Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University’s Veterans Upward Bound Office is currently accepting applications from veterans and active duty personnel to take free college preparatory classes beginning January 2001.

Funded by the Federal Department of Education, the program is geared toward veterans and active duty military in the Tidewater area.  Participants who are eligible can take courses in math, English and typing.  Computer training and general equivalency diploma (GED) classes are also offered.
