NSU Board of Visitors Meeting

The regular meeting of Norfolk State University’s
Board of Visitors continues Friday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m., in the President’s
Conference Room, located in Harrison B. Wilson Hall.

NSU Veterans Affairs Office Accepting
Applications for Free College Prep Courses
· The NSU Veterans Upward Bound
Office is now accepting applications from Veterans and Active Duty Personnel
to take free college prep courses in math, English, GED, typing and
computer training, which will begin in January 2001. Evening and
Saturday classes will be available.

Food Drive for Homeless Veterans

The NSU Veterans Affairs/Veterans Upward
Bound Office is sponsoring a food drive. Can goods and non-perishable
items can be dropped off at the following locations:

The Lady Spartan’s Basketball Game between
NSU and Hampton University takes place at 2 p.m., in Echol’s Memorial
Hall.

NSU National Alumni Association Banquet
Featuring Nathan McCall
· December 16
NSU Alumnus Nathan McCall, author of the
bestseller Make Me Wanna Holler and former Washington Post reporter,
will kick off NSU December commencement activities on Saturday, Dec.
16, as the keynote speaker for the annual alumni banquet at 6:30 p.m.

NSU December Commencement
· December 17
Marcia Ann Gillespie, editor-in-chief of
Ms. magazine, will address approximately 360 graduates at Norfolk State
University’s commencement ceremony, scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec.
17, at Joseph G. Echol’s Hall.
