Martin Luther King Community Leaders
Breakfast to be Held Jan. 15 at Norfolk State
Norfolk, Va.—The Urban League of Hampton Roads will hosts the Seventeenth Annual Martin Luther King Community Leaders Breakfast, Monday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 a.m. in the Scott Dozier Dining Hall, located on the campus of Norfolk State University. This year’s theme is “Remembering Martin: The Man, the Movement, the Message.” Monsignor Walter C. Barrett, Jr., former rector and pastor of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, will deliver the keynote address. A native of Richmond, Va., Barrett was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in May 1975 and appointed Roman Catholic Reverend Monsignor in February 1997. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Mary’s College. He also hold’s a master of divinity degree from St. Mary Seminary and University School of Theology. The cost for the breakfast is $20 per person. Due to limited seating, advanced ticket purchase is encouraged by Jan. 8.
