THE WILLIAM N. COLSON SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISING
DINNER IS SET FOR THE HOLIDAY INN CHESAPEAKE

Norfolk, Va. --- The Virginia Association of Black Psychologists (VABPsi) announced today that it is sponsoring the Dr. William N. Colson Psychology Scholarship Fundraising Dinner. The dinner will be held at the Holiday Inn Chesapeake on Saturday, May 6, 2000 at 6:30 p.m.

Colson served in the psychology department at Norfolk State University for 27 years prior to his sudden death last July. The scholarship fund was established at the time of his passing. And it will be awarded annually to an undergraduate psychology major at NSU who demonstrates academic excellence and financial need.

The VABPsi goal is to reach a level of funding which will allow the scholarship to be endowed so that the association may continue to honor Colson's memory for many years to come, while also helping deserving Norfolk State students to achieve their own collegiate goals and aspirations.

The fundraising event promises to be a grand evening for cocktails, dinner, and reflections with friends and colleagues of Colson. The donation is $100.00 per person. Checks may be made payable to the VABPsi and mailed to the address below. Contributions will go a long way toward achieving the association's goal of endowing the William N. Colson Psychology Scholarship Fund.

A response date of April 20th has been established and the association would very much appreciate any and all donations, as well as commitments to attend the dinner, to be made by that date.

However, persons who realize that they can not attend the event itself, are also encouraged to make a contribution to the scholarship fund to assist deserving psychology majors at Norfolk State University.
