to Speak at Norfolk State Dec. 2
Norfolk,

Food Network’s celebrity chef and author Jeff Henderson,
better known as “Chef Jeff” from the “Chef Jeff
Project,” will speak at Norfolk State University. Free
and open to the public, Henderson’s talk will be held at
12:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 2 at the L. Douglas Wilder
Performing Arts Center.

Norfolk,
Va.—As part of his national book tour, Earvin
“Magic” Johnson, a retired NBA basketball star and
chairman and chief executive officer of Magic Johnson
Enterprises, will visit Norfolk State University to
promote his new book 32 Ways to Be a Champion in
Business. Open to the public, Johnson will sign copies
of his book from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 4 at
the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center.

NCATE Accreditation Continued
Norfolk, Va.—Norfolk State University’s School of Education has proven its
commitment to producing quality teachers for our nation’s children by
achieving accreditation under the performance-oriented standards of the
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the organization
responsible for professional accreditation of teacher education. Accredited
by NCATE since 1970, the School of Education’s continued accreditation is
effective until spring 2015.

State University is now on Apple iTunes U,
which allows users to easily search, download and play course content. NSU
is the first institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia to be listed in the

Chair of U.S. EEOC, to Deliver NSU Fall Commencement Address on December 13
Norfolk, Va.—NSU alumnus Naomi Churchill Earp, chair of the U.S. Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission, will deliver the keynote address at
Norfolk State University’s commencement ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m.,
Saturday, Dec. 13 at Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall. The procession will
begin at 9:30 a.m.
