CENTER FOR MATERIALS RESEARCH
Research Associate Professor
POSITION: Norfolk State University is seeking
applications to fill a research associate professor position in
optoelectronic polymer synthesis. This is a temporary/contractual
one-year position for a grant funded research project (possible more
years per availability of funds).
RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include, but not limited to, carry out
funded optoelectronic polymer research projects under the supervision of
project director, train and assist student researchers, assist project
director in lab management and maintenance, and apply external research
funding.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. degree with at least one-year
postdoctoral experience in electronic/photonic polymer synthesis is
required. Polymer electronic/photonic device research experience is
desired. The applicant should have at least 7 or more years of hands-on
research experience (including graduate research experience) in the
following: 1) polymer synthesis involving multi-step organic reactions
and purifications; 2) polymer characterizations (including NMR, FT-IR,
Elemental Analysis and/or MASS, GPC and/or MALDI, UV-VIS, Luminescence,
TGA/DSC, etc).
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
