DEPARTMENT of ENGINEERING
Faculty Position in Optical Engineering
POSITIONS: The School of Science and Technology invites nominations and applications for an Optical Engineering faculty position. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the field of optical engineering, advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research projects in areas such as optical materials, opto-electronics, fiber optics, photonics, and optical communications.
QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must have a minimum of a Ph.D. degree in optical engineering, optical science, electrical engineering or physics with a research specialty in laser related research or optics. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to establish a research program in areas such as optical materials, opto-electronics, nanotechnology or computer simulations of optical systems.
SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
EFFECTIVE DATE: January 5, 2004
