This concert also featured actress, producer, and costume designer
Daphne Maxwell Reid , along with
actor James Avery narrating the concert. This musical showcase of
the African -American odyssey in America interwove song, prose, and instrumental pieces into the story of
the African-American quest to
achieve democracy in America.

Voices Unveiled Concert

The Virginia Symphony and the Norfolk State University Concert Choir performed in the concert, Voices Unveiled, February 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The program featured, among other favorites, selections from Aaron Copland (The Lincoln Portrait), Adolphus Hailstork (Let a New Earth Arise), and Duke Ellington (Come Sunday).
