Objectives

	To inform and educate NSU students about the safety measures they can take to decrease the opportunity for personal and internet violations.
	To create a unified campus plan that engages multiple units in addressing the issues of student safety.
	To identify new approaches to reaching the masses of students with information on subjects they tend to lack caution.
	To demonstrate Norfolk State University’s ability to take the initiative in marketing itself in a proactive confident manner on reprehensive subjects.
	Acknowledge Norfolk State University’s commitment to safety at the onset and appeal to the higher caliber student.

Key Messages

	Student safety and security is a university concern and should be approached as such.
	Anything that can be done to improve safety, should be promptly executed.
	NSU does not have to experience a negative event to address negative concerns.
	Approaching safety and security from an educational perspective is advantageous to an institution of higher education.
	Creating an opportunity to address multiple safety concerns, provides the cavity to continue development without interruption and reduce the chances of neglecting safety measures.
