To provide
individualized, quality-enhanced services, and accurate
information for international students, faculty, and staff
in order to sustain an ethnically and culturally diverse
campus, while minimizing legal risk to the customer and the
University.
The Office of
International Student Services is committed to providing
exemplary service and support to Norfolk State University's
international students. The Office also contributes to
Norfolk State University's intellectual and cultural
diversity through its service to the international student
promotion of international education and intercultural
understanding.
To accomplish its mission, the Office of International Student Services generates required documents and processes petitions for nonimmigrant students; provides advisory and counseling services; serves as a liaison between the student and university departments, U.S. and foreign government agencies and the greater community; facilitates the assimilation of international students in the larger Norfolk community; acts as a referral source for students, staff, faculty, and the community; and provides support services and education to enhance student success.
