UNIVERSITY WIDE ASSESSMENT
Overview
University assessment includes assessment of student progress through the institution,
students' satisfaction with their university experience, the quality and efficacy of units and
services, and the institutional environment and climate. Graduating Student Exit Survey
(GSES), National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), and Faculty Survey of Student
Engagement (FSSE) are examples of university assessment activities. Such university-wide
assessment activities are the joint responsibilities of several offices depending on what is
being assessed and are coordinated by the office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment.
