NSU’s Homecoming Parade is an annual tradition featuring various university and community organizations.   This year’s parade will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 31 at Booker T. Washington High School, which is located at 1111 Park Avenue in Norfolk.

Operating under the theme “Homecoming 2009: Soaring with Spartan Spirit,” the parade will be led by Grand Marshal Bruce Smith, a Norfolk native and 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame member.  Kevin Monroe, an NSU alumnus and principal of Booker T. Washington High School, will serve as the honorary grand marshal.

The parade route will begin at Booker T. Washington High School at Park Avenue and Virginia Beach Blvd.  It will move east on Virginia Beach Blvd.  It will then make a right turn on Majestic Avenue; heading south; right on Corprew Avenue, heading west; and will conclude at Corprew and Park Avenues, near the Robinson Technology Center.

The viewing stand will be held in front of the NSU University Police Bldg., which is located on Corprew Avenue. For more information, contact 823-8373 or visit www.nsu.edu/homecoming.
