Ms. Anita E. Brabson began her service in the Department of Engineering on September 18, 2006. She has been employed at Norfolk State University for 30 years and has obtained a wealth of information during her tenure. She has her Associate in Applied Science Degree from Tidewater Community College, Portsmouth, VA. She has attended various workshops pertaining to Office Administration and is commissioned and maintains her commissioning by the Governor of Virginia as a Notary Public.
Ms. Brabson became diversified in other areas as well. She held and still holds an interest in the medical profession of which she was a CPR instructor and afterwards became an Emergency Medical Technician and is now a life member with the Kempsville Rescue Squad in Virginia Beach, VA, with ten (10) years of service. She received her certificate from Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, VA, and worked as an affiliate faculty member with the Tidewater Center for Life Support, Norfolk, VA, under the umbrella of Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Ms. Brabson has had to utilize all of those skills at Norfolk State University. She lives by a poem her father taught her and her siblings: “When a task is once begun, never leave it till it’s done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all.”
