Online Pedagogy and Instruction
Educators today are facing a new and perhaps unique challenge-keeping up with their students, who are often more technically savvy than their instructors. Students also have high expectations about the use of computer technology in their educational pursuits. For these reasons, among many others, instructors at all levels must develop not only awareness and understanding of elearning, but the ability to apply the best principles that result in effective learning experiences.
To facilitate the learning curves of faculty an eLearning Study Group was formed to share experiences and learn together, using as its resource the excellent book by Dr. Shirley Waterhouse, The Power of eLearning. Members of the Group prepared and led discussions related to each of the eleven chapters in the book. The focus of this book is not only on technology, but also on elearning pedagogy. The list of chapters, the presenters, and their PowerPoint presentations are provided below.
