The Ernest M. Hodge Center for Entrepreneurship

 Ernest M. Hodge Biography

Ernest M. Hodge, founder and co-CEO of March/Hodge Automotive Group, is a 1975 graduate of Norfolk State University. In 2006 Mr. Hodge was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as having the second-largest Black-owned business in America. While his professional accomplishments are nothing short of historic, his generosity and personal perspective are just as impressive.

Mr. Hodge looks back on “NSU with pride in not only what I gained from my experiences there, but…for the future of the school and the experiences it offers incoming students. I always had the desire to work for myself and have control of my own destiny. NSU offered me an environment that encouraged my entrepreneurial spirit and equipped me with the skills necessary to take off on my own. The students entering the Ernest M. Hodge Center for Entrepreneurship now have opportunities that were not available to me when I attended NSU. I am pleased to be in a position to partner with NSU in offering those opportunities”.

Dr. Steven D. Papamarcos, Dean of NSU’s School of Business said “It has been my pleasure and a distinct privilege to get to know Ernie Hodge. I don’t know a higher compliment to pay anyone than that they sought to improve the lives of others, especially young people. Mr. Hodge has done that, and we thank him. Future generations of NSU students will benefit from the example this man of high character continues to set, and his generosity in making the Hodge Center real”.
