Career Advising/Coaching

Career services has a full-time staff to assist current students and alumni with resume, cover-letter preparation, mock interviews, and job search strategies

Career Fairs

Fall and Spring Career Fairs provide students the opportunity to interact and network with employers

Graduate and Professional School Fair

The Graduate and Professional School Fair is held annually during the fall semester. Students have the opportunity to interact and network with a host of representatives about post graduate programs.

Professional Career Seminars

Each semester, the Career Services office offers a variety of professional career seminars (some seminars are facilitated by Employers). These specialized seminars include:

  • Resume/Cover-letter Writing
  • Co-op/Internship Process
  • Interviewing Skills
  • Professional Dress
  • Job Search Strategies
  • How to Work a Career Fair

On-Campus Recruitment

Employers from business, industry, education, and government send recruiters to our office to facilitate their hiring needs. Students are able to interview directly with employers on campus during the fall and spring semesters

SPARTANLink Our 24/7 online system allows students and alumni to search for co-ops, internship, part-time and full-time job opportunities (www.nsu.edu/careerservices)

Career Coaching and Assessment Career coaching and assessment are available to students that are unsure of a career or major. Students who are in need of specialized career exploration may take:

  • Career Development and Leadership Seminar (CED 250)

Internship and Co-op Education

Integrate your academic coursework with a career related paid or unpaid experience. Students can earn academic credit for their internship/co-op by registering for the following:

  • Cooperative Education (CED 350)
  • Cooperative Education (CED 450)

Student Employment (Part-time work for full-time students)

We can assist with employment assistance to students seeking off-campus opportunities. Employment information are maintained with employers throughout the Hampton Roads area. Job listings are accessible on SpartanLink (www.nsu.edu/careerservices)
