About

The Board of Visitors is an executive branch supervisory board responsible for University operations including requests for appropriations. As a public institution, Norfolk State University is accountable to Virginia’s taxpayers through institutional direction from its active, informed, and engaged Board of Visitors.

Norfolk State University’s Mission is to provide an affordable, high quality education for an ethnically and culturally diverse student population, equipping them with the capability to become productive citizens who continuously contribute to a global and rapidly changing society.
