Athletes of the Week
Women's Bowling

Helped the NSU bowling team finish 7-3 at the MEAC Southern Division meet in Chesapeake to take over first place in the division...rolled a 901 five-game series as the Spartans went 4-1 in team play on Saturday...bowled a season-high 201 in the win over FAMU...helped the Spartans go 3-2 in baker games on Sunday.

Men's Basketball
Averaged 25.5 points in NSU's two games last week...scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the loss to Jacksonville State...tied his career high with three 3-pointers in that game while also pulling down four rebounds...scored a team-high 26 points, including 23 in the second half, at North Carolina A&T.

Don Carey accepted invitations this week to the Shrine Game and the NFL Combine.

NORFOLK, Va. – After a stellar four-year career, Norfolk State University defensive back Don Carey (Norfolk, Va.) will get two premier opportunities to display his talents with the best players in college football.

Carey has accepted an invitation to play in the 84th East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 17 and has also been invited to attend the NFL Scouting Combine next month.

Whitehead earned All-America honors for the second year in a row.
