The Department of Allied Health is a multifaceted department. The
purpose of the department is to educate students in the preventive,
diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of health care. The respective
professional associations accredit all of the programs, which require
accreditation at the undergraduate level.
The Department of Allied Health offers majors, concentrations, or
certificates in the disciplines of Health Services Management, Medical
Technology and Food Science and Nutrition, Funeral Services.
A Bachelor of Science degree is
awarded in Health Services Management and Medical Technology. A Food
Science and Nutrition concentration is available to students receiving
degrees in Chemistry and Exercise Science.
Additionally, the Health
Services Management program offers a certificate program that awards a
certificate of completion.
The Funeral
Services program is designed to provide students for careers in the
complex field of mortuary science. The curriculum addresses the
changing needs, and demands of contemporary funeral directing,
embalming, and business management.

OBJECTIVES of the Department
- To provide curricular offerings and clinical education which will
allow student to work in health care administration, health
information management, health maintenance, and in disease prevention,
diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- To instill a sense of ethical responsibility.
- To prepare students for entry-level positions in the health care
industry.
