Transfer Student - Resources

Transfer students are students who have been enrolled in a program of study with a college or university other than Norfolk State University. Transfer student admission requirements are to have a 2.0 cumulative G.P.A and 12 college transferable hours.

NSU Transfer Thursdays – will provide transfer students with the opportunity to learn more about Norfolk State University directly from faculty and currently enrolled students. The program will include on-site admissions, financial aid information, and an opportunity to discuss program requirements.

Guaranteed Admissions Agreement - Tidewater Community College and Norfolk State University recognize the need and importance of facilitating a smooth transition for students moving from one institution to the other as they pursue their educational goals.  learn more

Honors College

Intellectual Vigor Meets Academic Rigor…

The NSU Honors College provides an exciting living and learning community dedicated to maximizing your college experience. We offer enhanced academic classes, leadership training and special programming for students in all majors. Renewable scholarships are available while funds last.

Who qualifies? Incoming freshmen need a 3.0 or better GPA from high school, plus a 1450 (Math, Verbal + Writing) SAT for our Parsons General Honors Track; incoming freshmen need a 3.2 or better GPA plus a 1500 (Math, Verbal + Writing) SAT for our Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences Track. Transfers and continuing NSU students may also apply. Ask about our new Discipline-Specific Honors Programs Track, as well. For more, click here.

International Resources

International Programs - As an academic division of the Office of the Provost, International Programs is the University entity responsible for supporting, overseeing, and coordinating Norfolk State's international initiatives. International Programs works with all interested programs and services at Norfolk State to assist in international outreach, partnerships, exchanges, research, travel, and funding pursuits. learn more

International Students - Office of International Student Services generates required documents and processes petitions for nonimmigrant students; provides advisory and counseling services; serves as a liaison between the student and university departments, U.S. and foreign government agencies and the greater community; facilitates the assimilation of international students in the larger Norfolk community; acts as a referral source for students, staff, faculty, and the community; and provides support services and education to enhance student success. learn more
