Seminar -- Academic skills seminars are
performed throughout the academic year to target at-risk populations of
students. Academic skills
seminars held in the residence halls and various campus locations.

Summer Bridge Program -- The Norfolk State University
ACCESS Plus Summer Bridge Program is designed to assist first-time
college students with academic preparedness and transition to the
university environment. The Office of First Year Experience (FYE) and
Academy for Collegiate Excellence and Student Success (ACCESS) department
are responsible for
administering the program. |

Male Mentoring Program -- The ACCESS Male Mentoring Program
is designed to aid in the academic, personal, professional and overall
development of targeted male students at Norfolk State University.
The emphasis of AMMP will be on mentoring and nurturing targeted male
students with the expectations that they will persist at NSU, graduate,
and ultimately become successful in their chosen career fields. |

| ACCESS Female
Mentoring Program -- The FYE/ACCESS Mentoring program
continues to offer quality mentoring experiences to NSU
female students. Mentors assist our first year
experience students who participate in the female mentoring program with
important skills, such as decision making, leadership, building
self-esteem, and successfully transitioning into university life. |
