performing EKGs and interpreting EKG results through
practical skills, demonstrations and hands-on learning.
Laboratory assessments skills, which consist of non-invasive
procedures, will be performed in a professional manner on
classmates. Methods of treatments and Advanced Cardiac Life
Support techniques are discussed. After completion of this
class, students will eligible to apply for EKG
certification.

Phlebotomy Technicians
(Phlebotomists) are an integral part of the medical
laboratory team whose primary function is the collection of
blood samples from patients by venipuncture or
microtechniques. Phlebotomists are in demand for positions
in laboratories, hospitals, clinics, and physician offices.
Lab tests, ordered by physicians, are a key component to
diagnosing and treatment of patients. The phlebotomist
facilitates the collection and transportation of laboratory
specimens, and is often the patients only contact with the
medical laboratory. The need to assure quality and patient
safety mandates strict professional behavior and standards
of practice in any clinical environment.
