Network Access
- NSU employees
are assigned a unique ID and password, which will allow them access the
network, e-mail, and other IT resources. To request that an NSU network
account be established for you as well as to request access to other IT
resources, your supervisor must complete and submit the
Information Security
Access Agreement and an OIT Request Form (formerly known as the Resource
Authorization Request).
- Once an
employee has been granted access to the NSU network, they are required to
review and take a self-paced quiz per policy 60.201: Acceptable Use of
Technological Resources.

test their knowledge of IT security at NSU.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Access
- Employees can
access their desktop computers remotely (away from the office) using the
Windows Remote Desktop Feature.

Telecommunications (Land Line and Mobile) Resources
- Requests for
telecommunications services and equipment should be referred to our
telecommunications team. Supervisors should consult with them to identify
the specific needs of an employee regarding the issuance of phone equipment,
phone numbers, voicemail, and other related issues. Please call (757)

Get Listed in the Faculty/Staff Internet Search Directory (FINDS)
- NSU employees
are encouraged to list their business contact information in the
FINDS, the NSU online faculty and
staff directory. To view a tutorial on how to go about doing so,

Identification Badges
- NSU
identification badges are administered and issued by the SpartanCard Office,
a division of Auxiliary Services. Your badge not only contains a photograph
of you for right of entry, but also allows you door access authorized
spaces, but can also be used for vending transactions.
