Spring 2021 Commencement

  • Commencement Length

    The Commencement is approximately 2.5 hours.

  • Academic Attire and Regalia

    Academic attire (cap, gown, and accessories) will be available for purchase in the Bookstore starting March 17, 2021. The last day to purchase in-person at the Bookstore is Friday, May 14, 2021.

    Students who unable to make it to campus, can order online, The last day to order online is Friday, April 2, 2021. Orders placed after this date may incur additional fees.

  • Graduation Fees

    The mandatory application fee is $30. The application fee is assessed each time an application is submitted.

    The payment deadline for the graduation application  is Friday, April 16, 2021. The payments should be paid directly to Student Accounts. 

    Students must be financially cleared in order to receive degree and/or transcripts.  This includes payment of the graduation fee, tuition and all other fees (Cashier’s Office, Student Services Center, 2nd floor, Room 209) as well as any outstanding parking (University Police Department) or library fines (Lyman B. Brooks Library Circulation/Reserve Department, 1st floor).

  • Professional Photography

    GradImages will conduct on-campus portrait sessions on Monday, April 12; Tuesday, April 13; and Wednesday, April 14. Graduates must schedule an appointment, walk-ins will not be permitted. An email will be sent to the graduates with the scheduling link.  

    Graduates should wear business attire and/or their cap and gown during the portrait session. To purchase a cap and gown, please contact the University Bookstore, (757) 823-2037.

    Arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment. Temperature checks will be taken, and COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Masks are required, no exceptions. Graduates should not bring guests to the sessions, only the graduates will be allowed in the room. 

    Note: The portraist sessions are optional.
