There is no better way to learn about Norfolk State University than to visit us. There are several ways you can visit our campus, such as Open House “First View”, family/individual, and group tours. It is our goal to ensure the best NSU experience possible in any visit that you choose.

Open House "First View"

Our Open House, "First View" will be hosted on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center at 8 a.m.

Campus Tours

Campus tours are hosted by the NSU Student Ambassadors . Plan to allow approximately two hours for your visit which will include an information session, a discussion of admission criteria; a walking campus tour; and opportunities to meet with University representatives. Tours are available throughout the year except for holidays, student registration, midterm, final exams and University breaks.

Campus tours will not be offered during New Student Orientation dates.  Please click here on the link to see dates.

How Many?

Groups smaller than 6 people:

Family tours consist of 6 or less individuals and are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Please submit a campus tour request form at least one week prior to desired date of tour.

Groups larger than 6 people:

Group tours are available for groups larger than six people. Group tours are offered on Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.  Tour size is limited for the benefit of our visitors. Be sure to register at least one month in advance.

How Long?

• Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to tour.

• Please allow two hours for your visit.

If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, please call 757-823-8396 to inform us of your expected arrival time. We will make every effort to accommodate late arrivals, however, in an effort to keep on schedule when arriving late the family or individual may not be able to receive the full campus tour experience.

How Do I Sign Up?

• Fill out the Campus Tour Request Form

Be sure to submit a request form least one month in advance to ensure we are able to accommodate your needs.

Please note the following dates campus tours are unavailable:

• Jan. 16- Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
• Feb. 27- Mar. 3- Mid- Semester Exam Period
• Mar. 5-11- Spring Break
• Apr. 28 – May 5- Final Exam Period
