NSU Awarded DoD/AFRL $4.9M Award for Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research

Norfolk State University (NSU) has been awarded a Cooperative Agreement by the Department of Defense to establish a Center of Excellence in Cyber Security at NSU in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory. The total funding is $4,984,352 for a five-year period of performance (April 14, 2015 - April 14, 2020). The Center is led by NSU and include two additional academic partners: Old Dominion University/Virginia Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Center, and Tennessee State University. The main research objective of the Center is to develop a cloud-based, big-data analysis capable Cyber Analysis, Simulation and Experimentation Environment to enhance situational awareness and decision support capabilities for cyber defense and cyber training. The Center also performs research-related education, outreach, and workforce development activities.
